Description of the initiative:

The Academy is an initiative to help the most talented students in Lithuania to develop their skills and achieve success in education, independently of their social and economical status. Currently there are 9 subjects taught in the Academy: biochemistry, chemistry, economics, computer science, history, physics and astronomy, Lithuanian philology, mathematics and music. In addition to the regular online learning and individual counseling, on-site sessions are organised three time a year, where students attend high-quality subject and personal development classes.

Most of the activities organised within the Academy are run by e-volunteers: teachers, university professors, representatives of the business sector, alumni of the Academy. Around 30 of them cooperate with the organisation daily and almost 30 contributors work for it on a less regular basis. Academy can also count on the network of its 1100 alumni.

The Academy has been successfully operating for over seven years. Over this time more than 1100 students have participated in the programme and there are more than 300 actively engaged in the Academy right now.
