The effects of 1st European edition of the ‘Discover e-volunteering’ Competition were amazing! We’ve received over 80 applications to the Competition from organizations from 19 European countries. They are perfect examples of various e-volunteering activities happening on the Web: free Web counseling, forming assistance and self-help groups, e-tutoring, sharing professional skills and knowledge through the Net, e-charity, searching for information and many more!

Questions & Answers

I don't know what e-volunteering is.

Evolunteering is simply volunteering via the Internet.

It refers to the tasks carried out by volunteers (so it means it is voluntary and unpaid) completely or partly through the Internet. These evolunteering activities as well as other forms of volunteering are of benefit to other people and the whole society.

The online volunteering (e-volunteering) involves many different activities, for example: giving free online advice, forming aid and self-help groups, cooperating on promotion, finding information or helping others to learn foreign languages via the Internet. For more information look here

 


I don't know who can participate in the Competition

Every NGO from the European Union that cooperates with volunteers via the Internet.

Such non-governmental organizations should be legally registered and conducting internet website or other on-line activity.

 


I don't know what kind of projects can be submitted for the Competition

All projects in which NGO from EU cooperates with volunteers via the Internet.

NGOs can submit projects based on permanent cooperation, recurrent activities or single action; being under implementation or already accomplished, provided that were not completed before January 1, 2010.

Such projects are called e-volunteer projects, and are implemented by non-governmental organizations, with the use of Internet tools , for the purpose of implementing activities addressing communities or individuals in the area of culture, education, consultancy, sharing know-how and skills, building common good and other socially urgent goals.

I don’t know how to apply to the Competition.

Go to the http://www.e-volunteering.eu/competition/add/ and fill in the online application form.

All applications should be entered through filling out the application form available in the two language versions (Polish and English) at the http://www.e-volunteering.eu/competition/add/. Applications must be submitted on-line.

 


I have problems with filling in the online application.

Check if all fields are filled in correctly.

You need to fill in all fields, apart from the last one. If you still have difficulties please contact us: competition@e-volunteering.eu.

 


I have problems with translating the information needed in the online application into English

Ask e-volunteers or Competition Partner to help you.

You can download the template of the application form and find an e-volunteer who will help you with the translation of it into English. You can also contact Competition Partner and ask him if he can do it.

Can I be a Competition Partner as well as take part in it?

YES!

You just have to remember that you will not be able to participate in the  formal verification of your application. In case we need help with formal verification of your application, we may ask other Parter to help us. Moreover, you will be able to propose the Member of Competition Selection Committee, but he or she will not assess your application due to the conflict of interest.
